Job Title: Content Director

Job Type: Contractor with Stipend ($1K)

Term: August 1, 2024 - June 1, 2025

Time Commitment: 10 hours per week

Note that there will be a total of 6 weeks off spread across the academic year for exams and holidays.

What is Novelly?

Novelly is on a mission to get e-books by underrepresented youth published and taught in the English classroom, so that every student can feel seen and inspired by what they read in school. What is the goal of the Content Director?

You will be working with a team of three other college student interns to put on an awards event in the Spring. You are responsible for directing Novelly’s content strategy with the goal of converting 20% of award applicants to program applicants. Specifically, you are responsible for brainstorming, planning and executing 3 campaigns on social media: call for awards applications in the fall, introducing the honorees in the winter, and save the date for the awards ceremony in the spring.

What is the role of the Content Director?

At Novelly, the Content Director is the person who directs Novelly’s content strategy. Your responsibilities include:

• Become a Novelly ambassador → understand & protect Novelly’s mission, vision, & values.
• Be an active, engaged team member → participate in conversations, offer thoughtful feedback, prepare in advance for meetings, and respect your colleagues’ time.
• Work with the awards team to create and host a timely & thematic virtual awards program.
• Work with the awards team to create a formal Communications Plan for the awards program.
• Brainstorm, plan, and post content for 3 campaigns on both Instagram and 1 other social media platform of your choice.
• Create design briefs and coordinate graphic design with Novelly’s Art Director.
• Revise content plans based on peer feedback and data review.
• Give a final presentation to your team in May about your projects and their results.
• Create a transition guide for the future Content Director in May.
