Job Title: Online Learning Director

Job Type: Contractor with Stipend ($1K)

Term: August 14, 2023 - May 31, 2024

Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per week

Note that there will be a total of 6 weeks off spread across the academic year for exams and holidays.

Novelly is on a mission to get e-books by underrepresented youth published and taught in the English classroom, so that every student can feel seen and inspired by what they read in school. What is the Online Learning Director’s role? Novelly’s ****Online Learning Director is the person who develops high-quality teaching resources that bring Novelly’s texts to the classroom.

You’d be right for this position if:

• You dream of a world where all students feel represented in the literature they read in class
• You’re the person who can’t imagine reading a book without annotating all your thoughts on post-its or in the margins
• You either loved English class, or you were brainstorming all the ways it could be better
• You love deep conversations, so you’d be the person to bring a deck of conversation starters to a dinner party

Key Objectives

• Fall Semester
  • Create lesson plans and teaching resources aligned with Novelly texts
• Spring Semester
  • During Spring Semester, the Online Learning Director will create an individual objective and develop a project plan to achieve that objective

What are the deliverables of the Online Learning Director by the end of their term?

• Final presentation in May about the following:
  • Was the objective achieved?
  • 3 areas of personal growth as a student and professional
  • 3 professional learnings around digital community and curriculum
  • 3 pieces of advice for the next Online Learning Director
